Quote:

naanak kahat chet chi?taamani hoi hai a?t sahaaee.
Nanak says (O human being!) Remember the Fulfiller of all desires the Divine; He will surely be your help and support in the end. -Guru Teg Bahadur Sahib, Guru Granth Sahib, 902

Message: All through our lives, we are busy with day to day dealings of fulfilling our desires. Our bodies grow older and wither. We rarely invest in the most important treasure of knowledge of the Creator who granted us the existence in the first place.

We encounter times when our lives are filled with pain and turmoil. At other times, we may encounter stress and anxiety which often come from too much expectation and too many wants or desires as opposed to needs.

All this running in the rat race will lead us nowhere. Instead of amassing more material wealth and possessions, embrace the Divine by having faith and acquiring patience and gratefulness.

If we can have trust in the workings of the Creator and the laws of nature, life can be much easier and relaxed. A conscious awareness of the Divine is our only support, our only means of fulfilment and spiritual peace.

Etymology: From Sanskritchintaama?i? Palichintaama?i(fabulous gem, which gives the possessor all one desires), a blend of chintaa (worry) + ma?i(gem).
