:dateline:Notorious Inspector General of Punjab Police Paramraj �Singh� Umranangal was reportedly interrogated by the Special Investigation Team on October 31 about Kotkapura and Behbal Klan firing incidents. Notably, the Congress led Punjab government had constituted a Special Investigation Team headed by ADGP Prabodh Kumar on the recommendations of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission in September this year.
Media reports reveal that Paramraj �Singh� Umranangal was summoned at Chandigarh where he was interrogated by the DGP Prabodh Kumar and IG Kuver Vijay Partap Singh.
It is also noteworthy here that the SIT had also visited Bargari and Behbal Klan to collect information from the ground zero by recording statements of witnesses.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Punjab & Haryana High Court has directed the SIT for not concluding its investigation and to work under the supervision of Court. The High Court�s direction has come in response to a petition challenging Punjab government�s move of withdrawing investigation of Kotkapura and Behbal Klan firing incidents from the CBI.
