1984 Sikh Genocide: Victim Family Members Not Given Jobs Even After 12 Years of Notification by Indian Government

NEW DELHI, India—Acting on a public interest litigation moved by the DSGMC, the Delhi High Court has sought a reply from the AAP led Delhi state government about facilitating government jobs to the family members of 1984 Sikh genocide victims. Notably, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee had moved a petition accusing the Delhi state government of not following the Union government’s direction issued in 2006 to facilitate government jobs to the family members of 1984 Sikh genocide victims. The DSGMC has told the Court that the Delhi state government didn’t provide job to even a single family member of genocide victims even after 12 years of the issuance of notification.
