Within whose hearts the Naam of the Divine dwells: All their anxiety vanishes. They find all the treasures and (the rewards of) all religious activities. They obtain the fruit that they desired in their mind. -Guru Ram Das Sahib, Guru Granth Sahib, 442

Message: The teaching in this verse is that we should embody Naam – the conscious awareness of the Divine presence and the cultivation of divine qualities. When we have a conscious awareness of the Divine, anxiety has no place in the mind as we are focused on a higher plane. We live in accordance with the Divine will, and laws of nature that also incorporate respect for the whole of humanity. If we have mastery over some skills or virtues, we share our knowledge with others.

Acquisition of spiritual qualities is the real treasure. It is facilitated by the remembrance of the Divine – as we are constantly conscious of divine attributes and trying to internalise them. Gradually, but surely, spirituality illumines the mind. Evil mindedness and duality are replaced by discernment and serenity.

Etymology: Combination of sabh (all) + arathaa (treasures, riches) from Sanskritarth(aim; thing, wealth).
