Main Witness Retracts Statement Against Jathedar Hawara in Ludhiana Clock Tower Bomb Blast Case

LUDHIANA, Punjab—The Sarbat Khalsa appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara was produced before the Court of Judge Atul Kasana (Ludhiana) via video conference on October 26 in a case pertaining to bomb blast occurred near the clock tower area of Ludhiana on December 6, 1995. Notably, Jathedar Hawara is currently being confined in Tihar jail of India’s national capital New Delhi.

Sharing the development with media, Jathedar Hawara’s legal counsel Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur informed that the statements of injured victims of the bomb blast were recorded by the Court during this hearing. He added that the prosecution witness Surinder Kumar Shinda, on the witness of whom Jathedar Hawara was nominated in this case, also retracted from his earlier statement confirming Jathedar Hawara’s involvement in this bomb blast. “Two prosecution witnesses namely Gurcharan Singh and Mall Singh have already expired” he informed.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the next hearing of the case has been deferred onto November 3.
