Historic Embarrassment for Sukhbir Badal: Sikh Sangat Evacuates “Pandaal” in Protest

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Former Deputy CM of Punjab Sukhbir Badal and former Cabinet Minister Bikram Majithia came across a major embarrassment on October 14 when the Sikh devotees in a religious program staged protest against them and started exiting from the “Pandaal” as soon as they were called to address the gathering. The incident occurred at village Nikke Ghumman of Gurdaspur where the duo Akali leaders had gone to attend a religious program organized at Gurdwara Angitha Sahib to commemorate the death anniversary of Baba Hazara Singh Nikke Ghumman Wale.

A video of the incident has gone viral over social media in which the Sikh devotees could be observed staging protest as soon as the stage secretary Budh Singh Nikke Ghumman invites Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia to stage to address the gathering. Immediately, the Sikh sangat sitting in the “Pandaal” stand up and start exiting. The entire “Pandaal” gets empty within few minutes.
