:dateline:An exhibition event of Sikh martial art Gatka was organized at Paathi ground of Amritsar Sahib on October 10 in commemoration of the sixth death anniversary of Gatka masters S. Prem Singh Bhatia and S. Harbans Singh. Notably, the duo Gatka masters were founders of the Shiromani Gatka Akhara (Ramsar) providing Gatka training in the holy city Amritsar Sahib.
Scores of Gatka teams from all over the Punjab participated and manifested their martial skills of Khalsa sports in this event held under the leadership of serving Gatka master of the Shiromani Gatka Akhara (Ramsar) Jathedar Hari Singh.
Chief of Dashmesh Tarna Dal Jathedar Balbir Singh Sodhi, senior vice president of Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala Bhai Ranjit Singh Damdami Taksal and chief of Jatha Sirlath Khalsa Bhai Dilbag Singh Sultanwind were the chief guest of this event. Bhai Daljit Singh Pappu acted as a stage secretary during this program.
All the participating Gatka teams were honored with Siropao (robe of honor), medals, shields and portraits in the end moments of this event.� �
