Phoolka Quits Punjab Assembly to Force Punjab Government to Take Action Against Killer Cops

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Upset over the Punjab government’s failure in bringing sacrilege culprits and killer cops to justice, the AAP legislator Harvinder Singh Phoolka has resigned from the legislative assembly of Punjab. Notably, Phoolka had announced to resign from the Punjab assembly yesterday.

“I have sent my resignation as legislator of the Punjab assembly to the Speaker Rana KP Singh through an e-mail,” Phoolka told the media while adding that he has resigned to build pressure on the Punjab government to take action against sacrilege culprits, conspirators and killer cops as per the recommendations of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission.

On being questioned by the media about Phoolka’s resignation, rebel AAP leader Sukhpal Singh Khaira said that Phoolka didn’t consult his colleagues about this decision at all but still they respect his sentiments as he has been doing great by contesting cases of 1984 Sikh genocide victims from long time.

Terming the Phoolka’s decision as a mere drama, the SAD (Badal) spokesperson Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema claimed that Phoolka has resigned to pave way for contesting parliamentary elections in 2019.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Punjab assembly officials have received the resignation but Speaker Rana K P Singh is yet to take a call on it.
