Gates of Sri Hemkunt Sahib Closed Due to Winter Season

:dateline:The gates of hilly Sikh shrine Sri Hemkunt Sahib were closed amid echoes of Sikh ovation on October 10 due to upcoming winter season. Now, the gates of Sri Hemkunt Sahib will be opened during the next season in May-2019.

More than 4000 devotees were present in the concluding religious program held on October 10. The gates were closed following recitation of Gurbani Kirtan by Raagi Jatha of Bhai Baljit Singh Chandigarh and Ardas by Head Granthi Milap Singh.

Sharing the development with Sikh24, the president of Sri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust S. Janak Singh informed that more than 2,00,000 devotees from all over the world received blessings of Guru Sahib by paying obeisance at Sri Hemkunt Sahib this year. He added that the pilgrimage remained continued this year from June 1 to October 10 due to good weather conditions.
