Canada’s Conservative Party Chief Andrew Scheer Pays Obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Mr. Andrew Scheer, who heads the Conservative Party of Canada and leads the opposition in Canadian parliament, today paid obeisance at the holiest Sikh shrine Sri Harmandir Sahib. He was accompanied by Mr. Bob Saroya, Ramona Singh, Bob Dosanjh and S. Bikramjit Singh Chak Alla Bakhsh on this eve.

After paying obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum, Mr. Andrew Scheer arrived at the Information office where he was welcomed by the SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal. He was honored with a golden model of Sri Harmandir Sahib, a set of religious books and a “Siropao” (robe of honor) on this occasion.

Interacting with media, Mr. Andrew Scheer hailed the role being played by Sikhs in the development of Canada. He termed the sacred Sikh shrine Sri Harmandir Sahib as a beautiful place in the world which conveys the message of communal harmony to the entire world.   

SGPC’s executive member Ravinder Singh Chakk, Dharam Prachaar Committee member Sukhvarsh Singh Pannu, Secretary  Diljeet Singh Bedi, Manager Jaswinder Singh Deenpur, Additional Secretary Paramjit Singh Saroa, Additional Managers Rajinder Singh Ruby and Sukhbir Singh, Darshan Singh P.A, Sukhminder Singh Xeon, Navinderpreet Singh Longowal, Amarjit Singh Longowal etc. were also present on this occasion.
