:dateline:Mr. Hamid Karzai, the former President of Afghanistan, paid obeisance at the holiest Sikh shrine Sri Harmandir Sahib on September 20. While paying obeisance at the sanctum sanctorum, he presented a very beautiful hand woven carpet and glass made Flower pot.
Interacting with media on this occasion, Mr. Hamid Karzai said that his biggest wish has been fulfilled after paying obeisance at the holiest Sikh shrine and he would like to come again and again for paying obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib.
SGPC�s chief secretary Dr. Roop Singh apprised Mr. Karzai with the history of Sri Harmandir Sahib while traversing through the periphery. He also took up the matter of rising attacks on Sikhs in Afghanistan, which has forced them to emigrate from Afghanistan.
Reacting to this, Mr. Karzai said that he has good relations with the Sikh community and he will begin talk about the security of minorities with the concerned officials and rehabilitating the Sikhs and Hindus who emigrated from Afghanistan. ����
Mr. Hamid Karzai was presented a model of Sri Harmandir Sahib, Siropao (robe of honor) and a set of Books related to Sikh history by the SGPC on this eve.
