Kartarpur Corridor Project Likely to be Taken Up Between India and Pakistan in SAARC Councils Meet

:dateline:After getting apprised about the Pakistani governments underway plan to provide visa-free access of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib to Indian Sikhs, the Indian politicians are on toe to earn political mileage on this issue. Punjab Cabinet Minister Navjot Sidhu had captured the limelight last month by firstly disclosing this plan of Pakistan government on getting clue from the Pakistani Army Chief General Bajwa in this concern.

Irked over Navjot Sidhu, the Akali couple Sukhbir Badal and Harsimrat Badal is continuously making statements against him by dubbing him as an anti-national element. Interacting with media yesterday, Harsimrat Badal didnt even refrain from opposing the corridor to Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib just for launching a political attack on Navjot Sidhu.

Meanwhile, it has been disclosed by the Indian government that it has not yet received any official proposal for this corridor project from the Pakistan government.

However, Sikh24 has learnt that the Indian and Pakistan governments might take up this issue in the SAARC Council meeting scheduled for September 27 in New York (USA). Sources have revealed that the Indian as well as Pakistani Foreign Ministers of the duo countries might undergo discussion on the corridor project for Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib a day before the meeting of SAARC council.
