SGPC Elections: Justice Darshan Singh Refuses to Take Charge as Chief Gurdwara Election Commissioner

:dateline:The former Punjab & Haryana High Court�s judge Justice Darshan Singh has refused to take charge as the Chief Election Commissioner in Gurdwara Election Commission. Notably, the Indian Home Ministry had appointed Justice (Retd.) Darshan Singh on August 2 to begin work for SGPC elections in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh.

Sources have informed that Justice Darshan Singh was in confusion to take charge as the Chief Gurdwara Election Commissioner from the very first day of his appointment. But he cleared his stance after taking an observation of the condition of the Commission�s office in sector-17 of Chandigarh. It is learnt that neither any furniture nor any staff member was present there when Justice Darshan Singh went there.

Meanwhile, it is also learnt that Justice Darshan Singh has been appointed as the Chairman of Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) in Haryana.
