:dateline:SGPC member Sukhdev Singh Bhaur, who also heads the Panthik Front , was today arrested from Chandigarh by the Nawanshehr police. He was taken into custody by the Police immediately after attending the funeral of his mother in law.
Sources have informed that the Nawanshehr police have arrested Sukhdev Singh Bhaur for making �objectionable� comments against Sant Ramanand (Ballan) of the Ravidas community during his speech at Bargari on September 3.
Sikh24 has learnt that an FIR No. 69 was registered today under sections 295-A of IPC and 66 of IT Act against Sukhdev Singh Bhaur in the police station of Banga for hurting the religious sentiments of Ravidasi community.
Strongly condemning the arrest of Sukhdev Singh Bhaur, the AISSF president S. Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad has said that what could be worse than it for the Sikh community that no sacrilege culprit has been arrested despite a 100 day long struggle at Bargari, but a renowned Sikh leader has been arrested immediately after registration of an FIR. �
It is pertinent to note here that some miscreants related to Sant Ramanand were giving unnecessary hype to a fair comment by Sukhdev Singh Bhaur for which he had even apologized yesterday.
Meanwhile, the SAD (Badal) is being suspected in the back of Sukhdev Singh Bhaur�s arrest to pass a gesture of threat to other SGPC members.
