CBI – A Tool of Centre, Punish Sacrilege Culprits Himself, Sidhu Asks Captain

CHANDIGARH—A debate on the investigation report of Justice Ranjit Singh was held today in the Punjab assembly in which the anti-Panthik face of Shiromani Akali Dal leaders was exposed by the Congress leaders without any hindrance. As expected earlier, the SAD legislators ran out of the Punjab assembly by accusing the assembly speaker of not allotting them equal time to Congress.

A verbal clash between the SAD legislator Bikram Majithia and Congress legislator Inderbir Singh Bolaria was witnessed when the “Akali” legislators were walking out of the house. During this verbal clash, Bikram Majithia depicted his shamelessness by making flying kiss to Inderbir Singh Bolaria.

The debate in the Punjab assembly was started by the Congress legislator Harminder Singh Gill, who shed light on the involvement of Sirsa cult in sacrilege incidents occurred in Punjab during 2015. He also shed light on the Commission’s report exposing the key role of Badals in granting pardon to rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim and in opening firing on the peacefully protesting Sikhs at Kotkapura.

Making mockery of the “Panth Ratan” and “Fakhr-e-Qaum” titles conferred to Parkash Badal, Gill compared the sacrilege incidents of Punjab to the stealing of hair from the Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar. He sought strict action against all the sacrilege culprits including Badals, Sumedh Saini and other police officers.

After Gill, the Jail minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa questioned the SAD leaders that why they didn’t table the report of Justice Zora Singh led investigation Commission in Punjab assembly despite of the fact that this Commission was appointed by them.

Participating in the debate, Navjot Sidhu said the “Akalis” ran away from debate because they had no explanation to give for a dark phase in the history of Sikhs.

Taking on Himmat Singh for retracting from his statement, Sidhu said that Himmat Singh’s parents chosen exactly right name for him as only he possesses courage (Himmat) to be a shameless to such an extent. He added that Himmat is a key witness in the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission’s report, who had deposed saying that he was present in the meeting of Sikh high priests with Badals when they were asked to grant pardon to the Sirsa cult chief.

Strongly opposing the investigation of sacrilege cases by CBI, Sidhu bluntly said that the CBI was a tool of Centre government and Captain Amarinder Singh should take a decision in this concern.

AAP legislator HS Phoolka dared the “Akalis” to challenge the call records placed on record by the Justice Ranjit Singh commission.

AAP MLA Aman Arora pointed to various loopholes in the police investigation regarding police firing at Behbal Kalan and Kotkapura. He said the Congress government was not implementing the recommendations of the commission.

Congress MLA Fateh Jang Bajwa also asked the chief minister to withdraw his decision to handover the investigation of sacrilege cases to the CBI.

Lok Insaf Party leader Simarjit Singh Bains said the entire world is watching the chief minister’s decision on punishment to be handed down to those behind the sacrilege, while adding that the chief minister will have to bring out his swords and attack those who committed sacrilege.

Dubbing the former CM Parkash Badal as a coward and liar in his 30-minute speech, the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh said that Parkash Badal slipped away from today’s session knowing that he would be nailed. “When objective history of Punjab will be written, Parkash Badal would be painted evil”, he added.
