Commission’s Supplementary Report Exposes Apparent Involvement of Parkash Badal in Kotkapura Police Firing Incident

CHANDIGARH—The investigation report of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission about the sacrilege and Police firing incidents occurred in Punjab during 2015 was today presented in the Punjab assembly by the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Brahm Mohindra along with a Commission’s supplementary report exposing the direct involvement of Parkash “Singh” Badal in police firing incidents. As soon as Mr. Brahm Mohindra started tabling the report, the “Akali” legislators headed by Sukhbir Badal walked out from the House.

It is learnt that the supplementary report, submitted on August 16 says, “…earlier the commission had in its report observed that the facts might indicate the involvement of the CMO (Chief Minister Office), but it is now clear that the Chief Minister and the CMO were apparently kept in the loop about the action proposed by the police and the action finally taken at Kotkapura. This supplementary report may be read in conjunction with the findings and observations recorded by the Commission from pages 50-55”.

In the action taken report, the Punjab government is learnt to have accepted this recommendation of the Commission. The action taken report says, “Since it has already been decided to refer the matter to the CBI, the investigation agency shall also ascertain whether any act of omission and commission was committed by any other person.”

Media reports reveal that the SAD president Sukhbir Badal and other “Akali” legislators staged protest outside the Punjab assembly after being barred from carrying the copies of leaked report of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission into the House. The frustrated “Akali” legislators scattered the copies of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission while performing a stupid act of setting up a “shop” for selling the copies of the Commission’s report for Rupees 5/- each.

Sikh24 has learnt that the debate on this investigation report of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission will be presented tomorrow. Punjab’s Local Bodies Minister Navjot Sidhu, who also went through a verbal clash with Sukhbir Badal in the House, has dared Sukhbir Badal to remain present in the house tomorrow.

It has come to fore that the “Akali” legislators stormed the well of the House at 4:36 pm after which the House was adjourned for 30 minutes.

Interacting with media outside the House, Bikram Majithia demanded investigation of the sacrilege incidents while claiming of witness “fabrication” by the Commission. He accused the Congress government of being hand-in-glove with “radicals” and being responsible for attacks on Manjit Singh GK in Yuba City yesterday.

Show-Cause Notices Served to 32 Guilty Police Cops including former DGP Sumedh Saini: Sikh24 has learnt that few hours before tabling the report in the Punjab assembly, the Punjab government served show  cause notices to the former Punjab DGP Sumedh Saini, ADGP Rohit Chowdhary, Jatinder Jain and Iqbal Preet Sahota, IG Paramraj Singh Umranangal, M.S Chhina, DIG Amar Singh Chahal, the then SSP (Faridkot) Sukhwinder Singh, the then SSP (Ferozepur) Hardial Singh Mann, the then SSP (Mansa) Raghubir Singh, DSP Baljit Singh Sidhu, Jagdish Singh Bishnoi, Bikramjeet Singh and 19 others.
