SGPC Annuls Justice Ranjit Singh’s Investigation Report

CHANDIGARH—In an expected move today, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee announced to annul the investigation report of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission about the sacrilege episode. Notably, the Shiromani Akali Dal is acting by tooth & nail to save its existence after the release of Justice Ranjit Singh’s Investigation report about the sacrilege and Police firing incidents occurred in Punjab in 2015.

In a resolution passed by the SGPC’s executive meeting held at Amritsar Sahib today, it has been said that the SGPC had already annulled this commission on September 30 last year vide Resolution No. 1104. “We feel that the Congress’ marionette Justice Ranjit Singh Commission has itself committed sacrilege of the ‘Angs’ of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji by placing them in a store” alleged the SGPC’s executive committee in resolution.

Accusing the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission of using shoddy language about the SGPC officials, the SGPC’s resolution says that the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission has proved its Congress affiliation by spreading “misinformation” among common masses and “fabricating” fake witnesses against Shiromani Akali Dal.

Comparing the Commission’s report with 1984’s Holocaust and Genocide, the resolution alleges that the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission has prepared report as per the wishes of the Congress led Punjab government.

The resolution issues warning to the Congress led Punjab government to shun its “anti-Panthik” policy otherwise it would have to face “sharp protest” of the Sikh masses.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that one of the SGPC’s executive member opposed the resolution while saying that how the SGPC could pass this resolution when the Commission’s report is still to be made public officially.

Sources have informed that after announcing the annulation of Commission’s report, the SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal couldn’t answer the questions posed to him by the press reporters and left the venue without answering their questions.
