O Supreme Being! Your ardent servant and devotee, Guru Nanak, who is accepted at Your door, is just like You. What can one tongue describe (about You or Your approved devotee)? -Guru Arjan Sahib, Guru Granth Sahib, 1386

Message: The above quote is derived from the verses uttered by the fifth Guru (Swayiye Sri Mukhbakya Mahla 5). The quote pronounces that Guru Nanak has been spiritually merged with the Divine and thus accepted and approved at His durbar as the supreme devotee of devotees. By devotedly singing the virtues of the Almighty and being attuned to those qualities at all times, he became like the Divine.

How can we, with our limited capabilities, fully comprehend Guru Nanak and the Creator? Which of their qualities can we describe?

Rather than attempting to assess the power and probability of the all-pervading Divine Force and the spiritual status of an exalted person like Guru Nanak, we should strive to be humble before them, reflect on their teachings and follow their guidance.

Note: The synonym of tul, samsar is used here to rhyme with dar.

Etymology: Combination of tul from Sanskrit tulya (equal to, like) ? Pali tulya/tull (equal, comparable) ? Prakrit tull ? Sindhi tulu, Punjabi tull and Sinhalese tul + samsar from Sanskritsamasar(going alike).
