SGPC Approaches Punjab Governor Seeking Action Against Miscreants Hindering it from Agriculture in its 161 Acres Land

CHANDIGARH—The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee today submitted a memorandum to the Punjab governor Sri V.P Singh Badnore seeking action against the hooligans barring SGPC to use its 161 acres of land for agriculture at Bhari Roopa (Bathinda). Notably, some miscreants with robust political back have been hindering SGPC from using its own land for agriculture since 2017.

SGPC president S. Gobind Singh Longowal accompanied by SAD leaders told the Punjab governor that the Punjab & Haryana High Court had given its verdict in favor of the SGPC on 161 acres of its land in village Bhai Roopa (Bathinda). “Although the land is in possession of SGPC but still the miscreants are hindering the SGPC from using this land for agriculture by resorting to hooliganism” he added.

Acquainting the Punjab governor about the damage carried out by these miscreants to 10 tubewell connections, Longowal appealed him to direct the Bathinda administration take action against these miscreants so that the SGPC could use this land for agriculture.
