Raged over the incident, the Rajasthan resident Sikhs spearheaded by significant Sikh personality S. Tejinder Pal Singh Timma today staged a protest at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Hanumangarh.

Sharing the development with Sikh24, S. Tejinder Pal Singh Timma informed that the Deputy Commissioner of Hanumangarh initially tried to justify the removal of Sikh Kakaars at examination centers by claiming that it was in accordance with the guidelines prescribed for examination. “But when we presented the booklets specifying rules regarding entry of aspirants into the examination centers, the Deputy Commissioner admitted that the officials at examination center have committed  a mistake” he added.

S.Tejinder Pal Singh Timma further informed that the Deputy Commissioner has promised them that such an incident will not occur in future. He added that the DC has also accepted their demand regarding the suspension of guilty staff members and a Departmental enquiry against them.

“This is the third incident in which the Sikh candidates have been forced to remove Kakaars at examination centers in Rajasthan. Before it, the Sikh candidates were also asked to remove their Kakaars in the RCS exam and an examination held for the recruitment of constables in Rajasthan police respectively” Timma told Sikh24.

He further said that it was very unfortunate that the descendants of the Sikh community are being subjected to religious discrimination by those who are existing today due to the sacrifices made by the great Sikh masters.

Meanwhile, S. Tejinder Pal Singh Timma has appealed the Rajasthan resident Sikhs to remain vigilant and make prior arrangements to tackle such radical attacks on the Sikh candidates at examination centers in future.
