First Dhadi/Kavishar Gurmat College Inaugurated at Guru Ki Wadali

GURU KI WADALI—The first Giani Sohan Singh Sital Dhadi / Kavishar Gurmat College built at Guru Ki Wadali was inaugurated by the SGPC president S. Gobind Singh Longowal on July 23. The SGPC has built this college to encourage the Sikh students towards the art of Dhadi / Kavishari.

Addressing the gathering on inauguration ceremony, the SGPC president S. Gobind Singh Longowal said that the Dhadi Kalaa begun by the sixth Sikh master Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji played a prominent role in the preachment of Sikhism and infusing high spirit among Sikhs. He added that Dhadis / Kavishars have been offering their services to the Sikh Panth since the tenure of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji.

Longowal further said that this college will also offer education to the female Sikh students aspirant of serving the Sikh community by becoming a Dhadi / Kavishar. He added that the SGPC will arrange a separate hostel for the female students.

SGPC’s General Secretary S. Gurbachan Singh Karmuwala, Executive member Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, SGPC member Bibi Kiranjot Kaur, Chief Secretary Dr. Roop Singh, Dhadis Giani Baldev Singh M.A., Giani Gurmej Singh Shahoora and Kavishar Bhai Gurmukh Singh M.A also addressed the gathering on this occasion.
