:dateline:As per media reports, the Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Karnataka H.D. Kumaraswamy seeking premature release of political Sikh prisoner Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khera. It is learnt that Captain has demanded Bhai Khera�s premature release on the ground of his good behaviour during the imprisonment term.
It is pertinent to note here that Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khera has been languishing in Indian jails for the last 28 years. He was released on parole by the Punjab government in April-2015 after shifting him from Karnataka to Amritsar under pressure of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa�s hunger strike.
Meanwhile, it is being speculated that Captain�s move has come under pressure of the Bargari agitation begun by the Sarbat Khalsa appointed acting Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Dhian Singh. �
