:dateline:The 179th death anniversary of Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh was jointly observed in Lahore on June 29 by the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee and the Evacuee Trust Property Board. The program was attended by Sikh devotees from Lahore, Sri Nankana Sahib, Peshawar and other countries along with 266 Indian Sikh pilgrims.�
Sharing the program details with Sikh24, Mr. Babar Jalandhari informed that Bhai Gursewak Singh, Bhai Harpal Singh and Raagi Bhai Satnam Singh addressed the religious discourse to the present attendees following the culmination of Sri Akhand Path Sahib.
SGPC�s Additional Secretary S. Balwinder Singh Jaura Singha, who is heading the Sikh Jatha from India, presented his views about strategy to celebrate 550th birthday of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in 2019. He appealed the Pakistan government to grant maximum visas to Indian Sikh devotees to celebrate this sacred day in Pakistan. ��
ETPB�s Secretary Mr. Mohammad Tariq Wazir said on this occasion that 10,000 Indian Sikhs will be issued visas by the Pakistan government in 2019 to celebrate 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. ETPB�s Chairman Tahir Ahsan said that the Pakistan government has decided to name the Shaharyan Building of Lahore after the name of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
PSGPC�s president S. Tara Singh said that the PSGPC has chalked out a plan to spend Rupees One billion for the repair and construction of new premises in the historic Sikh shrines of Pakistan. �A rest house of 136 rooms will be constructed at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Sri Nankana Sahib that would cost around 437 million rupees. Besides it, 50 rooms will also be constructed at Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib� he added. ����
