:dateline:Addressing the Sikh masses in a religious program held at Baramula (J&K) to celebrate 423rd birthday Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji, the SGPC president S. Gobind Singh Longowal said that the SGPC will make every possible effort to get the problems of Jammu & Kashmir resident Sikhs sorted out at the earliest. He said that the SGPC is committed to stand by the Sikhs living in every corner of this world.
On being apprised of the problems being faced by the Sikh masses in J&K, Longowal said that the SGPC will take up the matter with government officials to get problems sorted out. He said that the SGPC will approach the Union government of India as well as the state government of Jammu & Kashmir in this concern.
It is pertinent to note here that the Sikhs in Jammu & Kashmir are deprived of full rights despite living there before the freedom of India from British regime. The Sikhs in Jammu & Kashmir are deprived of full rights to apply for government posts. �
