Sikh residents of FATA had to move to Peshawar, Buner, Attock, Sri Panja Sahib, Lahore and other cities of Pakistan following violent clashes between Shia and Sunni Muslims. Currently, the Sikh shrines situated in FATA are being looked after by the local administration.

Every year around 2,000 Sikh devotees from Peshawar and other areas go on pilgrimage for three days to Gurdwara Talaa Sahib. Two Sikh bodies, namely Peshawari Singh Sewa Society and Guru Nanak Naam Lewa Parbandhak Committee (FATA), perform volunteer service of cleaning the Gurdwara Talaa Sahibs premises, painting the building of Gurdwara Talaa Sahib and changing the chola (cloth cover) of the Nishan Sahib every year.
