:dateline:A jatha of Sikh devotees to mark 179th death anniversary of Sher-e-Punjab Maharaja Ranjit Singh in Lahore will depart for Pakistan on June 21. Notably, the Indian Sikh pilgrims couldnt attend the death anniversary programs last year as the Indian government had denied security clearance to Sikh pilgrims because of tensed situation between India and Pakistan.
Sharing the development with Sikh24, SGPCs additional secretary S. Diljeet Singh Bedi informed that the Sikh jatha will depart for Pakistan on June 21 under the leadership of SGPCs additional secretary S. Balwinder Singh Jaura Singha. He added that the Sikh pilgrims will return back on June 30 after having a glimpse of various historic Sikh shrines situated in the Islamic State of Pakistan.
We have received the visa stamped passports of Sikh aspirants from Pakistan consulate. The Sikh pilgrims can collect their passports from the SGPCs head office on June 20 he said.
