:dateline:Reacting to the plea moved by the BJP led Indian government in Punjab & Haryana High Court against the Amritsar Courts verdict recommending Rupees 4,00,000/- compensation for Jodhpur detainees, the SGPC president S. Gobind Singh Longowal has asked the Union government of India to withdraw plea from Punjab & Haryana High Court.
Terming the Amritsar courts verdict as an attempt to put ointment over the unhealed wounds of Sikh prisoners, Longowal has said that the Indian government has intensified the feeling of estrangement in Jodhpur detainees by challenging the verdict in Punjab & Haryana High Court.
Reiterating the SGPCs stance in favor of Jodhpur detainees, Longowal has said that the SGPC has always helped the Jodhpur detainees in every possible way and would also keep on helping them in the future.
Bad-dal & SGPC President lost their credibility; boneless people don’t have any place in sikh panth..
It’s meanness of B.JP who is trying to stop very small compensation to Sikhs who were detained illegally.
