1984 Holocaust: Unprecedented Response to Shut Down Call by Amritsar Locals

:dateline:Traders of the holy city Amritsar Sahib tendered robust response to the shutdown call given by the pro-freedom Sikh outfit Dal Khalsa on June 6. Shopkeepers and other traders willingly kept their business units off to manifest their protest against the Indian government for carrying out 1984 holocaust.

Interestingly, not even a single shop in the commercial hubs of the city was observed open on June 6. Renowned wholesale textile markets, grain markets and industrial units in focal point were kept closed by the owners.

Further, no movement of common masses on the road was observable as all the residents choose to stay at home. Most rushed bus stand of the historic city was also observed in deserted look.

A hotelier, Surinder Singh, said, Hotel occupancy went down as tourists preferred to stay away from the city to avoid any inconvenience. Similarly, tour and travel operators, taxi drivers, and souvenir shopkeepers also incurred losses in the current peak holiday summer vacation season.

  1. Government Kute what are the protecting – they need protection from RSS. To hell with this corrupt system and shame on he authorities have no brain!!

  2. Why did we need the army to patrol the city . Isn’t it the responsibility of the police to keep law and order or it is just to crush the Sikhs if any incident happens.
