After witnessing the removal of Sikh history from the syllabus of secondary classes, the Sikh community has come across a worse incident in Sikh history ever.
SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh on May 1 imposed ban on the Dhadi Diwans at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Interestingly, Giani Gurbachan Singh imposed this ban under the pretext of conflict between two factions of Dhadis (Balladeers) over distribution of performance time.
Giani Gurbachan Singh�s move of banning centuries old Sikh tradition begun by sixth Sikh master Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji has astonished the entire Sikh community. A sharp wrath among Sikh community is being observed these days against serving SGPC officials, which is going to push the SGPC into a chaos in coming days.
On being contacted by Sikh24 in this concern, the former Akal Takht Jathedar Bhai Ranjit Singh said that no one would even have thought that the Sikh history will come across such a worse day when the Akal Takht Jathedar is himself banning the centuries old tradition of Dhadi Diwans at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. He added that the anti-Sikh powers are succeeding day by day in making extinct the Sikh traditions from Sikh shrines with the help of Badal clan.
Former SGPC�s General Secretary and serving member S. Sukhdev Singh Bhaur said that�� sorting out the conflict between two factions of Dhadis was not a big job at all but Giani Gurbachan Singh has depicted irresponsible behaviour by banning Dhadi Diwans at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. �Organization of Dhadi Diwans at sacred Sikh thrones has been a tradition from long time to apprise Sikhs with great Sikh history. Terminating Dhadi Diwans at Sri Akal Takht Sahib is not a solution of this problem� he added.
Sikh Intellectual S. Baljit Singh Khalsa smells a highly deliberated conspiracy behind this move by Giani Gurbachan Singh. �Banning Dhadi Diwans at Sri Akal Takht Sahib is a highly deliberated act carried out under the pretext of conflict between two factions. SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh has wittingly or innocently served what Indian government has desired from long time� he said while talking to Sikh24.
Former Hazoori Raagi of Sri Harmandir Sahib Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala said that he has been already whistling against wrong moves of serving SGPC officials from long time.� He added that Giani Gurbachan Singh would have suspended the conflicting factions instead of banning Dhadi Diwans at Sri Akal Takht Sahib. �SGPC�s office bearers are continuously working to abort Sikh traditions from the holy Sikh shrines� he said.
SikhSangat or the appropriate authority should immediately EXPEL Jathedar Gurbachan Singh and Restore the Dhadhi Diwan at once. Such persons should not be allowed to carry on ant Sikh activities at all.
