Religious procession to commence on April 22 from Sri Akal Takht Sahib for S. Jassa Singh Ahluwalia’s 300th Birthday Celebrations

—The SGPC officials, DSGMC officials and managers of various Gurdwaras on April 16 underwent a meeting to deliberate upon the preparations for 330th birth anniversary of Sikh general Sardar Jassa Singh Ahluwalia. Notably, a religious procession in this concern will commence from the supreme Sikh throne Sri Akal Takht Sahib on April 22 and will conclude at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib (Delhi).

During the meeting, the SGPC members shared their suggestions to make the religious procession memorable while the SGPC’s Chief Secretary Dr. Roop Singh directed the Gurdwara Managers to make suitable arrangements to clean disposable utensils from the roads. He further directed them to make full fledge arrangements for convenience of procession attendees and ensure maximum participation of Sikh devotees in these religious processions.

Interacting with media, Dr. Roop Singh informed that a special Gurmat Samagam will be held on the intervening night April 21 & 22 at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall. He further informed that the night Gurmat Samagam has been scheduled at every stoppage of this religious procession. “Bus containing sacred weapons of the great Sikh masters will also be an attraction of this procession” he added.
