BREAKING: Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu passes away

PATIALA, Punjab—Quadragenarian Sikh activist and political Sikh prisoner Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu today passed away due to heart attack. He was chief of armed outfit Khalistan Liberation Force and was active for the establishment of a sovereign Sikh state from a long time.    

Sources have informed that Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu suffered of heart attack Patiala jail during evening hours today. The Patiala jail authorities tried to rush him to nearby Rajindra hospital but he succumbed on the way. He was declared dead by the doctors of Rajindra Hospital.

It may be recalled here that Bhai Harminder Singh Mintu had to initiate a hunger strike in January this year for being deprived the basic necessities by Patiala jail authorities. He was being kept in a dark cell in this extremely cold weather by the Patiala jail authorities from the last two months. Despite of being apprised of the fact that Bhai Mintu is heart patient, the Patiala jail authorities had denied him taking to PGIMER, Chandigarh for medical checkup and treatment.

Reacting to Bhai Mintu’s untimely demise, Sikh Intellectual S. Baljit Singh Khalsa has said that Bhai Mintu succumbed to his cardiac ailment due to unavailability of basic medical facilities by the Jail authorities. He added that the political Sikh prisoners are not even being availed with needed medical facilities while the Hindu terrorists like Aseemanand enjoy luxurious life in Indian jails.

Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Dhuma has called for thorough investigations in Bhai Mintu’s untimely demise.

  1. Call all the investigation you like we all know the real truth – we are asking the enemy to investigate. It is clear that we nobody to authorities and until we are free this will continue. Shame on the Indian Authorities particularly of Punjab.
