CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The Punjab & Haryana High Court on March 13 rejected the petition moved by political Sikh prisoner Bhai Paramajit Singh Bheora seeking two hours custodial parole for meeting his old aged mother Bibi Pritam Kaur. Ninety three years old Bibi Pritam Kaur, who has been severely ill from sometime, had expressed wish to meet her son for the last time but due to severe illness she was declared unfit to be ferried to Burail jail by the PGI doctors.

Sharing the development with Sikh24, Advocate Simranjeet Singh informed that he had sought two hours parole for Bhai Bheora for the sake of fulfilling last wish of his mother. “I represented several similar cases before the Court like 15 days parole to Rajiv Gandhi’s assassin Ravi Chandran by Madras High Court and one month parole to an RSS leader in Gujarat riots. But the Court didn’t agree to his contentions and dismissed the petition” he added.

Advocate Simranjeet Singh further informed that he will challenge the High Court’s verdict in Supreme Court so that Bhai Bheora could meet his ill mother Bibi Pritam Kaur for the last time.
