FATEHGARH SAHIB, Punjab—In a meeting held at Giani Gurmukh Singh Memorial Hall of Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, the SGPC executive committee today took several prominent decisions including the meeting for next fiscal year’s budget on March 30. The executive member also paid tribute to the deceased SGPC member S. Surjit Singh Kalabula.
Report of the sub-committee, which was appointed to probe inconsistency in appointments made during the tenure of Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, was also accepted by the executive committee in this meeting.
Interacting with media, the SGPC President Gobind Singh Longowal informed that the annual meeting for announcing the SGPC budget for the next financial year 2018-19 will be held at SGPC’s headquarter Teja Singh Samundari Hall on March 30. He further informed that the SGPC has also decided to specially honour those gurdwara committees and panchayats which will become a part of SGPC’s campaign named ‘One Village, One Gurdwara’.
Shedding light on the other decisions taken by the SGPC’s executive committee, Longowal said that the SGPC has decided to specially honour wrestler Navjot Kaur, who has won Gold medal in Asian Wrestling Championship, with a cash reward of Rupees 2,51,000 . He added that the Sikh cricketer Arshdeep Singh, who manifested good performance in the Under-19 World Cup-2018, will also be honoured with a reward of Rupees 1,25,000. “Families of eight deceased Sikh youths, who had died in a car accident while returning from Gurdwara Sri Manikaran Sahib, will also be provided financial aid of Rupees 50,000 each. Similarly, injured youth of this incident will also be provided financial aid of same amount,” he said.

Avtar Singh Sainpla, Additional Secretaries S. Kewal Singh, S. Partap Singh & Balwinder Singh Jaura Singha, S. Jagjit Singh Jaggi & S. Darshan Singh (Personal Assistants of SGPC President) and Manager of Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib S. Jagir Singh etc. were present in this meeting.
