CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Hearing on the petition seeking two hours custodial parole for political Sikh prisoner Bhai Paramjit Singh Bheora was conducted by a division bench of Punjab & Haryana High Court on February 20. Notably, 93 years old Bibi Pritam Kaur has not been physically well these days and wants to meet her son Bhai Paramjit Singh Bheora.

During this hearing, the Punjab government asked the High Court bench to grant additional time of one week to lodge its reply. Notably, the High Court bench had questioned the Punjab government whether Bhai Paramjit Singh Bheora could be taken to his sister’s village for meeting his old aged mother.

Meanwhile, the High Court bench has directed the Chandigarh Administration to once again check the physical well being of Bhai Paramjit Singh Bheora’s mother Bibi Pritam Kaur. Next hearing on the petition has been deferred to February 27.

It may be recalled here that on the direction of Punjab & Haryana High Court, a team of PGI doctors had conducted medical examination of Bibi Pritam Kaur on January 18. The PGI doctors had declared her unfit to carry to Burail jail in car at that time.
