Charanjit Chadha banned from addressing any public gathering for two years

:dateline:Controversial former Chief Khalsa Diwans President Charanjit Chadha appeared before the SGPC appointed Takht Jathedars on January 23 to give clarification about his intimate video with a school principal. SGPC appointed Takht Jathedars Giani Gurbachan Singh banned him from addressing any public gathering for two years at any religious, social, political or educational function.

Sikh24 has learnt that the punishment was addressed from traditional podium of Sri Akal Takht Sahib but Charanjit Chadha was not present there when punishment was being addressed to him.

Giani Gurbachan Singh didnt reveal whether Chadha had accepted his mistake or what clarification he had given. On the recommendation of the SGPC executive, the AISSF and some CKD members, exemplary punishment was awarded to Chadha by the Singh Sahibs, he said.

Giani Gurbachan Singh further said that immoral activities in CKD institutes would not be tolerated at any cost. Since the CKD is a religious educational body run under the aegis of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, any member who misuses his position to victimise any staffer or student would lose his membership instantly. The victim would be free to approach Sri Akal Takht Sahib, he added.

It may be recalled here that a video depicting Charanjit Chadha in an intimate position with a Principal of CKD run School had gone viral over social media on December 26 last year. Although Charanjit Chadha had claimed that it was a conspiracy of his rivals to defame him but lodging of police complaint by the victim school principal had torpedoed his claims. Arrest warrants were issued against Charanjit Chadha following this complaint.

Amid this episode, Charanjit Chadhas son Inderpreet Chadha had committed suicide. In his suicide note, he had accused the police of acting in biased manner against his family and harassing him.

Stories about welfare tasks being done by Inderpreet Chadha at PGIMER, Chandigarh were published by the mainstream media outlets of Punjab.
