Portrait of Oak Creek Victim Amongst Others Installed at Central Sikh Museum

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—The SGPC has installed four additional portraits at the Central Sikh Museum.  These portraits have being installed to honour lives of Akali Lehar leader Baba Visakha Singh, former Hazoori Raagi Bhai Bakhshish Singh, Gurmat Sangeet Preacher Bibi Jasbir Kaur Khalsa and Oak Creek (Wisconsin) tragedy victim Bhai Satwant Singh Kaleke. were installed in the central Sikh museum of Sri Harmandir Sahib on November 16 by the SGPC.

Following the culmination of Gurbani Kirtan by Raagi Jatha of Bhai Sukhbir Singh, the SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, Additional Head Granthi of Sri Harmandir Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh and SGPC President Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar unveiled the portraits of these four renowned Sikh personalities.

Giani Gurbachan Singh said on this occasion that the portraits of these Sikh personalities have been installed in the central Sikh museum keeping in view their contribution towards preachment and defense of Sikh faith. He added that these portraits will encourage the upcoming generations of Sikhs to adopt Sikhism and dedicate their lives for the preachment of Sikh faith.

SGPC President Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar shed light on the lives of these great Sikh personalities and their contribution for the Sikh cause. He said that the portraits of great Sikh personalities are installed in the central Sikh museum so that the young generations of Sikhs could take inspiration from them.

Family members of these great Sikh personalities were honored with ‘Siropao’ (robe of honor) on this occasion.

Amarjit Singh Chawla, SGPC’s executive members S. Gurcharan Singh Grewal, Bhai Ram Singh, S. Surjit Singh Bhittewind & S. Jaipal Singh Mandian, SGPC members S. Rajinder Singh Mehta, S. Bhagwant Singh Sialka, Bhai Manjit Singh, S. Ajaib Singh Abhiasi, S. Harpal Singh Jalla, S. Mangwinder Singh Khapadkhedi, S. Harjap Singh Sultanwind & S. Kashmir Singh Bariar etc. were also present on this eve.
