AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Panthik circles faced a major setback today when the Sarbat Khalsa appointed Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala announced to distance himself from other two Takht Jathedars. Notable, Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala was appointed as the Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib by the Sikh congregation named Sarbat Khalsa 2015 held at village Chabba on November 10, 2015.
Interacting with media, Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala said that he has taken this decision as he found himself helpless in delivering onto the expectations of Sikh masses. He added that he won’t attend any meeting of Takht Jathedars in future and if the Sikh masses want to appoint someone else in his place they were free to do so.
Sikh24 has learnt that Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala has distanced himself from other Takht Jathedars Bhai Dhian Singh Mand and Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal due to difference of opinion over several issues. It has also come to fore that Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala was also irking over other Jathedars as they didn’t support him in his clash with Sikh preacher Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala.
Sources have informed that the United Akali Dal’s leaders Bhai Mohkam Singh, Baba Wassan Singh Zaffarwal, S. Gurdeep Singh Bathinda, Bhai Satnam Singh Manawa and others had attemped to convince Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala by meeting with him on November 12 but all their efforts went in vain.
