CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Four Sikh youth has been taken in custody in relation to the mysterious murder cases of prominent RSS leaders in Punjab. The arrested youth have been identified as UK national Jagtar Singh Johal alias Jaggi, Jimmy Singh, Ramandeep Singh ‘Canadian’ and Hardeep Singh Shera.
Punjab DGP Suresh Arora has claimed that all these Sikh youths were activists of armed Sikh outfit Khalistan Liberation Force. The Punjab Police is portraying Ramandeep Singh Canadian and Hardeep Singh Shera as sharp shooters of these murders and Jagtar Singh Johal alias Jaggi & Jimmy Singh as the conspirators.
Jagtar Singh Jaggi and Jimmy Singh are both residents of United Kingdom while Hardeep Singh Shera hails from village Majri of Fatehgarh Sahib and Ramandeep Singh from village Chuharchakk of Ludhiana. Jagtar Singh Jaggi was arrested on November 4 from Rama Mandi of Jalandhar and was produced before the Baghapurana’s Duty Magistrate on November 5.
DGP Suresh Arora claimed that Jagtar Singh Jaggi had prepared Ramandeep Singh &andHardeep Singh Shera to commit murders of Hindu leaders in Punjab. He added that Jaggi used to establish contact with these youths via Facebook and a mobile software application named SIGNAL. “Jaggi had instructed the duo youths to focus on soft targets and he used to remit funds to murder the RSS leaders” said DGP Arora.
Meanwhile, it has come to fore that Jagtar Singh Jaggi may have been active in UK with pro-Khalistani activists as he was a journalist. This connection is being speculated as the sole reason behind his arrest. Jaggi had come to Punjab to get married in October but became target of Punjab police few days after his marriage.
The Punjab police have shown recovery of five pistols, several bullets and three motor-cycles from these youths. The police claiming that these recovered items were used in murdering the RSS leaders including its state Vice-President Brigadier Jagdish Gagneja.
Latest reports reveal that Jagtar Singh Jaggi has been sent on four days Police remand till November 14. It is learnt that he was silently produced before the Duty Magistrate of Baghapurana by the Punjab police due to which the Defence lawyer couldn’t appear for Jagtar Singh before the Magistrate. The British High Commission from Delhi had also come to meet Jagtar Singh Jaggi but it also had to return without meeting Jaggi as the Police didn’t disclose his appearance before the Duty Magistrate.
