AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has announced to organize a large religious program at Gurdwara Badshahi Bagh of Ambala (Haryana) commemorated to the 350th birth anniversary of tenth Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh Ji on October 28.  SGPC President Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar will remain personally present in this program.

As per information shared by SGPC with Sikh24 on October 27, Hazoori Raagi Jathas of Bhai Shaukeen Singh, Bhai Gurdit Singh, Kavishari Jatha of Bhai Gurjit Singh Bhatthal and Dhadi Jatha of Giani Gurcharan Singh BA will address the religious discourse during this program.

Meanwhile, the SGPC President Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar has claimed that the Dharam Prachaar Lehar (Religious Preachment Campaign) launched by SGPC was receiving robust response from common masses. He added that the religious programs being held under this campaign were encouraging common masses to adopt Sikh values. “Now, the SGPC is ready to organize religious programs in other states of India also,” he added.

Appealing the common masses to attend these religious programs along with their children, Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar said that apprising the young generation about Sikh tenets and Sikh history was the need of hour for which the SGPC is continuously making efforts.

In 2014, Haryana Sikhs had launched a separate Gurdwara Management Committee for Sikh institutes in Haryana.  This ad-hoc committee named Haryana SGPC was given official recognition by the Congress Government.  This led the SGPC to lose control over majority of Sikh institutes in Haryana.
