SGPC Honours Life and Legacy of Damdami Taksal Chief Giani Kartar Singh Bhindranwale

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Under the Dharam Prachar campaign launched by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, a special two days program was held at the village Bhura Kohna in Amritsar.  The program was dedicated to the memory of Sant Giani Kartar Singh Khalsa, the thirteenth Chief of Damdami Taksal.

During a special seminar that was organized on the first day of the Gurmat function, Giani Kartar Singh Khalsa’s son and SGPC member Bhai Manjeet Singh, along with the daughter of Shaheed Bhai Amrik Singh, Principal Satwant Kaur, SGPC Assistant Director Education, were given special recognizations.

On this occasion, SGPC Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar arrived at the program as a special guest and he was welcomed by Bhai Manjeet Singh.  Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar said in his address that Giani Kartar Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale was a “Sant Sipahi” who dedicated his whole life to the seva of the Panth. 

“Sant Kartar Singh dedicated the preaching of Gurmat through his dedication to Guru Granth and Guru Panth throughout his life,” Prof. Badungar said.  “Giani Kartar Singh Khalsa led a strong campaign as the 13th chief of Damdami Taksal, where many Sikh preachers were prepared to serve the Khalsa Panth.”

“Giani Kartar Singh Khalsa’s personality was influenced by fearlessness.  Contributions of Sant Kartar Singh Khalsa can never be forgotten,” he added.

Meanwhile, Singh Sahib Giani Jaswant Singh and famous Sikh scholar Dr. Inderjit singh Gogoiani informed the devotees about the Panthik services by Sant Giani Kartar Singh Khalsa and said that today their life and their Panthik knowledge should be conveyed to the younger generations.
