aňdhkaar simrat prakaasanǧ   gun ramaňt agh khaňḍnah.

Dark minds are illuminated by remembering the Divine, and wrongdoings are destroyed by singing the attributes of the Divine. -Guru Arjan Sahib, Guru Granth Sahib, 1355

Message: Light up that mind!

On joyous occasions and festivals, when there is light everywhere, shouldn’t there be light in our minds too?

How do we enlighten or light up our minds so that we can be enlightened?

Regularly dwelling on the virtues of the Divine with love, we are slowly motivated to enshrine these traits in our heart.

We are inspired and spiritually strengthened to cultivate good habits and do good deeds.

Gradually our evil tendencies will dissipate and disappear.

Etymology: From Sanskrit prakaashate (become visible, shines forth).
