Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Throne Being Brought To Coventry

COVENTRY, United Kingdon—The throne from the royal court of the Sikh Raj, belonging to Maharaja Ranjit Singh, is to be brought to the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum in Coventry.

Being on temporary transfer from it’s current location, at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, the piece is being included in the “Crafts of the Punjab” exhibit in central England.

Other pieces from Punjab will also be exhibited, all from the V&A, stemming from others faiths and cultures of Punjab too. The displays will include artifacts spanning the 2nd to the 19th centuries.

The collections will be open for viewing from October 20, for a period of three months. Members of the public from all over England should find it easier to visit the central location for the historic artifacts from Punjab.

The exhibition boasts the inclusion of never before seen artifacts.

  1. We’ve fought in both World war and helped Britain to win. Britain should return all Maharaja Ranjit Singh item’s back to us – which is the right thing to do. These item’s should be placed in Harmandir sahib museum. Where Sikh;s and none Sikh’s can appreciate our History.
