SGPC Employees Sacked for Stealing Beans From Gurdwara Sahib Langar

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Four SGPC employees were reportedly suspended by Prof. Badungar, SGPC President, for stealing beans from Gurdwara Sri Garna Sahib, situated in village Bodal of Hoshiarpur district. The sacked employees include manager Surinderpal Singh, storekeeper Sarabjit Singh, helper Inderjit Singh and gardener Diwan Chand.

Sharing the development with Sikh24, the SGPC Secretary, Dr. Roop Singh, shared that the suspended employees have been found guilty by the investigative team of the SGPC. He said that these employees had continually sold the beans to a local shopkeeper.

Dr. Roop Singh said that by suspending theese guilty employees the SGPC President has made it clear that there was no room for any dishonest person in this Sikh body, and all dishonest employees will be dealt strictly in future also.

The institution of langar, started by Guru Amar Das Ji, is a sacred and respected form of service to humanity and therefore profiting dishonestly from this service is a very heavy form of disregard, especially from the leading Gurdwara Sahib management organization, SGPC.
