Ram Rahim’s Foster Daughter Honeypreet Surrenders Before Police

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—36 years old Priyanka Taneja, alias Honeypreet Insan, foster daughter of Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, has surrendered before the Punjab police after giving an Interview to the mainstream channel Aaj Tak.

The Haryana Police claim they arresting her from Zirakpur but sources have conformed that she was handed over to Haryana police by Punjab police after she they allowed her to be interviewed by Aaj Tak.

Reacting to her charges of sedition, following violence committed by cult disciples in Punjab and Haryana, Honeypreet said thata t no stage could anyone have witnessed her a word where to instigate people.

“I had gone there (CBI court in Panchkula) with the hope that my father would return by evening, but when he was found guilty, I went into depression, How could I think about anything else? I was totally devastated,” she said.

Honeypreet tops the list of the 43 people most wanted by the Haryana Police in connection with the incidents of violence that left 41 people dead and several injured following Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s conviction of rape on August 25, 2017.

Speaking with media at Panchkula, Police Commissioner A S Chawla said that she has been taken into custody and that she is being brought to Panchkula for questioning in connection with the incidents of violence.

“Her role in the violence will be probed. Whevero provided her shelter or support during her run from police will also be investigated. She will be produced before a court (in Panchkula) tomorrow and we will seek remand,” Chawla said.
