Panj Piare Will Vacate SGPC Quarters After Bullying Of Giani Gurmukh Singh

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—After witnessing the events surrounding the treatment of principled employees of the SGPC, the sacked Panj Piare (beloved ones) of Sri Akal Takht Sahib have decided to vacate their quarters. The move has come few days after the SGPC officials disconnected water and power supplies to Giani Gurmukh Singh’s living quarters.

On January 1, 2016, the SGPC dismissed the Panj, namely, Bhai Satnam Singh Khanda, Bhai Major Singh, Bhai Satnam Singh, Bhai Tarlok Singh and Bhai Mangal Singh, from their services, for allegedly “overstepping their jurisdiction”. They had ordered the removal of the SGPC appointed Takht Jathedars for granting an un-requested pardon to the Sirsa cult chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, in September 2015.

Bhai Satnam Singh and Bhai Mangal Singh are still living in the quarters of Sri Harmandir Sahib Complex, the rent of which is being deducted from their gratuity and provident fund since the day of their dismissal.

Speaking to Sikh24, Bhai Satnam Singh Khanda said that the way SGPC treated Giani Gurmukh Singh was awful. He added that they were verbally asked to vacate the house by the SGPC six months ago, but we sought time to make an alternative arrangements. “My house is under construction. As soon as the construction is completed, I will be able to move out. We will never approach the SGPC to claim gratuity and provident fund as the money belongs to Guru ki golak,” he said.

Meanwhile, the SGPC Secretary Dr. Roop Singh has said that Bhai Satnam Singh and Bhai Mangal Singh have been already served their notices to vacate their quarters as there was a long list of SGPC employees waiting for their turn to have residence allotted.

  1. SGPC are all gunde working as chamche for the RSS – they have no respect of shame for Sikhs and if you raise your voices and speak out they will fire you. Disgusting how they gunde are still running SGPC and they should all be boycotted by the Panth.
