AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Highlighting concern over rising incidents of suicides due to peer pressure of a social interaction game, named Blue Whale, the SGPC President Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar has asked the Congress led Punjab government to take preventive measures to control damage in Punjab. He has also appealed to parents of children in Punjab to repeatedly check the phones of their children.

In a press note shared with Sikh24, Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar has said, “The Punjab government ought to use its technical machinery to ban Blue Whale game and control the elements which are promoting and spreading the download link of Blue Whale game”.

Appealing to statewide parents of children not to let their children get addicted to such internet services, Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar has said that the rising dependence of children in such social devices has not only affected their physical growth in some severe cases, but are also becoming victims of depression and other psychiatric conditions.

Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar has appealed the parents to encourage their children towards Sikhism and teach them to live their lives as per Sikh moral values, to give them health well being in their mental and social capacities.
