After passing away on July 20 this year, after he succumbed to cancer at the age of 38, a crowd funding page on JustGiving was setup to provide support for his family. The overwhelming support was self-evident as over a thousand contributors crossed the £100,000 mark in but a few days.
Jagraj also received the prestigious Points of Light award from the Prime Minister, Theresa May for his volunteer work, and following his death the family received a personal letter of condolence from the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau.
After leaving the British Army, Jagraj had a successful career in recruitment. He later sacrificed his job to set up the charity, Everythings13.org and launched his YouTube channel.
Hundreds of donors left messages of support on the JustGiving page. One wrote: “You have given so much more than we can ever give back.” Another wrote: “So grateful for everything Jagraj Singh has done for us all.” Another commented: “Pleasure to donate to the family of an outstanding man whose knowledge of Sikhi changed my life.”
At the time of writing the JustGiving page had reached £122,466 of its £270,000 target, with donations from 1211 people.
