1984 Sikh Genocide Probe Chairman Called Into Court

NEW DELHI, India—A Delhi Court of an Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Ajay Singh Sekhawat, has summoned the chairman of the Special Investigation Team constituted to re-probe the cases of 1984 Sikh genocide.

The SIT had advised the court to close a case concerning the 1984 Sikh Genocide, in which a 50 year old Sikh was killed by a Hindu mob in Anand Parbat Factory (Western Delhi) by being stoned to death. on November 3, 1984. The SIT had told the Court that there was not any solid evidence against any of the accused so the case should be closed.

The court has asked the chairman, Anurag, an IPS rank administrative, to explain why the SIT crossed its jurisdiction parameters, as it was only asked probe the facts. The court has said that the report lodged by SIT was not satisfactory and the Chairman of Mr. Anurag should clarify their stance.

The three-member Special Investigation Team, comprising IPS officer Anurag, retired District Judge Rakesh Kapoor and Delhi Police DCP Kumar Gyanesh, was set up on February 12, 2015 following a recommendation by the Union Home Ministry-appointed Justice (Retired) G P Mathur committee.

  1. The present Govt needs to give Justice fast to the victims of 1984 Genocide.
    They otherwise will be believed to be sympathizers to the Congress Regime of 1984.

  2. Two ways to get justices, one go to the UN using strong words vs india, second the sikh india army needs to unit as one and protect their culture and their sikh brothers and sikh sisters by the gun, cause Hindustani ain’t going to give the sikh their justice, its been a long time 1984.
