AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—The pro-freedom Sikh organization, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) has announced it will mark the second anniversary of the death of former AISSF leader and son-in-law of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa, Bhai Satwinder Singh Bhola.
Bhai Satwinder Singh was stabbed to death under mysterious circumstances in Peoria, Illinois on August 16, 2017, when a powerful movement in favour of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s struggle was at it’s peak in Punjab.
Speaking to Sikh24, SADA’s General Secretary S. Amrik Singh Ballowal said that party president Simranjit Singh Mann has led preparations for the remembrance event. He added that an Akhand Path Sahib has been scheduled in Sri Darbar Sahib of Tarn Taran Sahib, which will culminate on August 16.
SADA’s Press Secretary S. Navdeep Singh Amritsar said that Bhai Satwinder Singh Bhola was a great Sikh personality who made immense sacrifices for the cause of Sikh nation. He added that despite living in exile for over two decades, Bhai Satwinder Singh continued to make every possible effort for the well-being of the Sikh nation.
“Observing death anniversaries of such great Sikh personalities was the need of hour”, said Navdeep Singh while appealing to Sikh masses to attend the anniversary program.
