:dateline:Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, the president of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee, expressed deep grief over the killing of Sikh youth Simranjit Singh in United States. He has extended heartfelt condolences to the aggrieved family.
On the night of July 25, 20 year-old Simranjit Singh was shot dead while working at a gas station near Sacramento, California. Before the attack was carried out on Simranjit, his colleague faced verbal and physical attacks by a group of men.
Speaking to Sikh24 over telephone, Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar said that the Union government of India needs to internationally rake up the issues of attacks on Sikhs in abroad. He added that it was very unfortunate that a community which has played a prominent role in the economic development of western countries was being targeted.
Seeking strict punishment for the killers of Simranjit Singh, Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar has appealed the US government to ensure security of other Sikhs residing there.
Prof. Badungar has also appealed the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to rake up the issue with his counterpart in United States of America. ��
